Faculty Josh McAlister

CAMP DIRECTOR

Wasatch Academy faculty member Josh McAlister will be leading the charge. Fluent in Mandarin, Mr. McAllister bridges the language gap and makes this trip accessible to students from all over the world.

After graduating with a B.A. in Political Science, Josh worked in marketing and sales. After 5 great years in management and running his own district, he decided to travel around Asia and learn Chinese, so he moved to Taiwan to teach elementary school students and to study Chinese at Shi-Da University. Mr McAlister has spent the last five and a half years teaching and developing curriculum in the PYP, MYP, and DP at an IB World School. For the last 3 years, he was the Diploma Program Coordinator and now has an M.A. Ed. in Secondary Education.

Josh’s free time is spent either chasing a ball or watching a ball being chased with sports such as basketball, tennis, and football—or in spending time with his wife and two kids exploring the outdoors.

Cultural Discovery

Hike the National Parks. Walk the Vegas Strip. Bite into an In-and-Out Burger. On this trip, you won’t miss a thing.
