National Parks Tour With Wasatch Academy



Wasatch Academy’s location is so close to 6 incredible National Parks that we thought it would be only fitting to invite you to join us on a National Park tour! Not only are the National Parks around Wasatch Academy beautiful, but we know a thing or two about our own backyard. Expect a few off-the-beaten-trail excursions to some amazing surprise sites.

Camp Details


Check-in: Monday, August 19 for SLC airport pick up, head to campus. Stay in dorms for 9: am National Park Tour departure Tuesday, August 20

Check-Out: August 27 at 3:pm. Check into dorms for Wasatch Academy academic year. Transport available for non-Wasatch Academy students

Cost: $795




Upon arrival, all participants will be evaluated by the staff so that each camper’s instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Low and moderately difficult day hikes  to meet all skill levels.

Do you know any archeologists? Don’t worry, we do! Nancy Hewitt will be joining us on the National Parks Tour to illuminate the history of the parks. Nancy was born and raised in the national parks, was a seasonal park ranger, and has a master’s degree in Anthropology. You do not want to miss this trip.

What to bring

  1. Camp registration documents.
  2. BED AND BATH: Towels, sleeping bag (if you want to bring personal otherwise a sleeping bag is provided), pillow, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap.
  3. MEDICAL: Emergency contact info, information about medications, allergies, asthma, or other medical conditions
  4. RECOMMENDED: Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, swimsuit, pyjamas, jacket, weather appropriate clothing and footwear, spending money, camera

Day 1Drive across the border into Nevada. Stay at Great Basin National Park. Set up camp
Day 2Explore Great Basin National Park. Hike the ancient bristlecone pine groves
Day 3Explore the Lehman caves and visitors center at Great Basin National Park
Day 4Pack up camp and leave for
Day 5Explore Bryce Canyon. Stay in Springdale or near Zion
Day 6Explore Zion National Park. Drive back to campus 4hrs
